Reading the novels over the last 28 years, like many, I've always struggled to reconcile my mental image of Doc. In the books, the descriptions of Doc's face follow the pulp version ala-Baumhofer. But, the stories also describe a much more muscular build than the pulp covers portrayed- more like the Bamaesque physique. I've come up with this pic. I hope you like it as much as I do. It is a hybrid of Doc's head from the pulp "The King Maker" and the body from the paperback "Poison Island." The stone idol in front is just something I threw in for effect.
